THE MASTER THESIS COMPETITION
PAOLA MATTIOLI AWARD
The Accademia Adrianea di Architettura e Archeologia Onlus promotes and organises the Paola Mattioli Prize, reserved for students enrolled in the Itinerant Master’s Course in ‘Architecture, Museography and Exhibit Design for Archaeology. Sustainable design and strategic valorisation of the archaeological heritage’.
THE SYMBOL
The place that historically symbolises the values expressed and underlying this competition is the Acropolis of Athens, the cradle of western culture and unattainable testimony of beauty in relation to the experience of ancient, modern and contemporary architecture. The Acropolis of Athens is therefore an ideal location and at the same time, a physical place of comparison for the design activity of the young designers participating in the Paola Mattioli Prize.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
The Paola Mattioli Award is open to all students enrolled in the above-mentioned Master’s Course who wish to confront the themes of great beauty, classical cultural identity and the valorisation of the architectural, artistic and archaeological heritage. That is to say, who wish to unite and merge aesthetic and moral values in a perspective inspired by a high and panoptic vision of the social role of architecture and the architect’s professional task in its various declinations. The same desire that inspired and animated Paola Mattioli’s feeling.
PRIZES
The competition provides for the awarding of a financial prize of Euro 3,000 made up with the contribution of Paola Mattioli’s family.

Designing places that arouse POSITIVE EMOTIONS, of BELONGING, of IDENTITY Re-educating in CIVIC SENSE, RESPECT and HERITAGE VALORISATION
