The Itinerant Master’s in ’Architecture, Museography and Outfitting for Archaeology. Sustainable Design and Strategic Enhancement of the Archaeological Heritage is established by the Adrianea Academy of Architecture and Archaeology Onlus, based on the particular itinerant format, with the specific aim of interacting with a range of different sites, for which individual study and design workshops are organized.

Each workshop is methodologically autonomous, following the principle of differing approaches to the relationship between Architecture and Design, Museography, Exhibition Design, and Archaeology. The Itinerant Master therefore offers a series of eight to ten original and significant experiences at as many prestigious, internationally recognized sites, alongside a high-level online seminar program available to all participants spread across a wide geographical area. In addition, participants have the opportunity to undertake an internship at highly qualified studios or institutions, as well as a Master’s Thesis experience linked to an internal design competition within the Master’s community, known as the “Paola Mattioli Award,” set on the Acropolis of Athens.

The Master’s course is designed to train: designers-museographers specialised in cultural products such as visit itineraries in archaeological areas, museums and museum sections, exhibition layouts; managerial staff for museums, foundations and other institutions operating in the archaeological heritage sector; entrepreneurial figures operating in the management of archaeological cultural heritage valorisation processes; multimedia directors for the production and dissemination of formats for integrated communication.

The award of the Itinerant Master’s degree, i.e. the title resulting from the completion of the training course, requires participation in a minimum of four of the proposed workshops, combined with individual study to be formalised with the Master’s thesis.

The start of institutional activities is scheduled for the beginning of March 2026. The conclusion of activities, with the discussion of thesis dissertations, is expected in March 2027.

Tirocinio

At the end of the first semester (June 2026), participants, based on the evaluations obtained during the semester, may apply to the Master’s Secretariat to undertake an internship lasting two to three months at institutions, studios, or organizations operating in the field of exhibition, museum, and event design, as well as in the enhancement of Archaeological Cultural Heritage.
